Overview

Account security is a top priority at HostHike. To help protect your client account from unauthorized access, we strongly recommend enabling Two-Factor Authentication (2FA).

2FA adds an extra layer of protection by requiring a one-time security code in addition to your password during login.

Why Enable Two-Factor Authentication?

Two-Factor Authentication helps protect your account against:

  • Unauthorized logins

  • Password leaks or phishing attacks

  • Brute-force login attempts

  • Account takeover attempts

Even if someone knows your password, they cannot access your account without the second verification code.

How Two-Factor Authentication Works

When 2FA is enabled:

  1. You enter your email and password as usual.

  2. A one-time code is generated on your mobile device.

  3. You enter the code to complete the login.

The code changes every few seconds and can only be generated from your device.

How to Enable Two-Factor Authentication

Follow these steps to activate 2FA on your HostHike account:

  1. Log in to your Client Area

  2. Click on Profile

  3. Click Security Settings

  4. Locate Two-Factor Authentication
  5. Click Enable Two-Factor Authentication

  6. Scan the QR code using an authenticator app

  7. Enter the generated verification code

  8. Save your settings

Once enabled, 2FA will be required every time you log in.

Recommended Authenticator Apps

You can use any standard authenticator app, including:

  • Google Authenticator

  • Microsoft Authenticator

  • Authy

These apps are available for both Android and iOS devices.

Backup Codes

During setup, you may be provided with backup codes.
Store these codes safely in case you lose access to your mobile device.

What If I Lose My Phone?

If you lose access to your authenticator app:

  • Contact our support team immediately

  • Verification will be required before 2FA can be reset

For security reasons, 2FA resets are handled manually.

Additional Account Security Tips

To further secure your account:

  • Use a strong, unique password

  • Never share your login details

  • Avoid public or unsecured networks

  • Always log out from shared devices

  • Keep your email account secure
