Terms of Service

1. Introduction & Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”, “Agreement”) govern your access to and use of all products and services provided by HostHike, a web hosting and digital services platform operated by Hike Digital Strategies (BN 7580398).

By registering an account, purchasing services, or using any part of the HostHike platform, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be legally bound by these Terms, our policies, and all applicable laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you must immediately discontinue use of our services.


2. Scope of Services

HostHike provides infrastructure-based and digital services including but not limited to:

  • Shared Web Hosting

  • Domain Name Registration, Renewal, and Transfer

  • Email Hosting Services

  • SSL Certificates

  • Hosting Add-ons and Software Tools

  • Web and Application Development services (where applicable)

All services are provided on a best-effort basis and are subject to availability, technical limitations, and compliance with these Terms.


3. Account Eligibility & Verification

By using HostHike services, you confirm that:

  • You are at least 18 years of age

  • You have the legal capacity to enter into binding agreements

  • All information provided is accurate, current, and complete

HostHike reserves the right to request identity verification, additional documentation, or proof of ownership at any time to prevent fraud, abuse, or misuse of services.

Failure to comply may result in suspension or termination.


4. Account Security & Responsibility

You are solely responsible for:

  • Securing your account credentials

  • All activities performed under your account

  • Any content hosted or transmitted using your services

HostHike is not responsible for compromises resulting from weak passwords, leaked credentials, third-party software vulnerabilities, or user negligence.

You must immediately report suspected unauthorized access to: support@hosthike.com


5. Fraudulent Activities (ZERO TOLERANCE)

HostHike operates a strict zero-tolerance policy toward fraudulent activity, including but not limited to:

  • Payment fraud or chargeback abuse

  • Use of stolen or unauthorized payment methods

  • Identity impersonation or false registration details

  • Phishing, scam pages, or fake login portals

  • Hosting fraudulent investment, giveaway, or impersonation schemes

  • Abuse of promotions, trials, or pricing errors

Any account involved in fraudulent activity will be:

  • Immediately suspended

  • Permanently terminated

  • Denied refunds

  • Reported to relevant financial institutions or authorities when necessary


6. Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)

You agree not to use HostHike services for activities that are illegal, abusive, harmful, or disruptive, including but not limited to:

  • Malware, ransomware, spyware, or botnet activity

  • DDoS attacks or traffic flooding

  • Spam or unsolicited bulk email

  • Hosting pirated software or copyrighted material without authorization

  • Hosting phishing pages, fake banking portals, or impersonation sites

  • Unauthorized data harvesting or scraping

  • Exploitation of system vulnerabilities

Violation may result in immediate suspension without notice.


7. Security Monitoring & Investigations

To protect our infrastructure and customers, HostHike may:

  • Monitor network traffic

  • Log IP addresses and access attempts

  • Scan for malicious activity

  • Temporarily isolate affected accounts

HostHike reserves the right to investigate any account suspected of abuse, compromise, or policy violations.


8. Law Enforcement & Legal Compliance

HostHike cooperates fully with lawful requests from:

  • Nigerian law enforcement agencies

  • Regulatory authorities

  • Courts and legal bodies

We may disclose customer data when required by law or to prevent harm, fraud, or illegal activity.


9. Resource Usage & Fair Use Policy

Shared hosting services are subject to resource allocation limits, including:

  • CPU usage

  • RAM consumption

  • Disk space

  • Inode limits

  • Email sending quotas

Excessive usage that impacts system stability may result in throttling, suspension, or required upgrades.


10. Email Services & Messaging Abuse

Email services are intended for legitimate communication only.

You may NOT:

  • Send spam or bulk unsolicited emails

  • Use purchased, scraped, or harvested email lists

  • Operate email campaigns without proper consent

Email abuse may lead to:

  • IP blacklisting

  • Account suspension

  • Permanent termination


11. Domain Name Services

Domain registrations are governed by the rules of the respective registries.

You acknowledge that:

  • Domain availability is not guaranteed until registration is completed

  • Renewal responsibility lies solely with you

  • Expired domains may enter redemption or deletion phases

  • Domains lost due to non-renewal are not refundable


12. Payments, Billing & Chargebacks

  • All services are billed in advance

  • Prices may change with notice

  • Non-payment may result in suspension or termination

  • Chargeback abuse may result in permanent account closure

All outstanding balances remain payable.


13. Refund Policy

Unless otherwise stated:

  • Domain registrations are non-refundable

  • Abuse-related suspensions are not eligible for refunds

  • Refund eligibility (if any) is subject to service type and billing cycle

Refunds are issued at HostHike’s discretion.


14. Data Responsibility & Backups

While HostHike may provide backup services:

  • Backups are not guaranteed

  • You are responsible for maintaining independent backups

  • HostHike is not liable for data loss


15. Service Availability & Maintenance

HostHike aims for high availability but does not guarantee uninterrupted service. Downtime may occur due to:

  • Scheduled maintenance

  • Hardware or network issues

  • Security incidents

  • Third-party failures


16. Limitation of Liability

HostHike shall not be liable for:

  • Loss of data

  • Loss of profits or revenue

  • Business interruption

  • Indirect or consequential damages

Maximum liability shall not exceed the amount paid for the service during the previous billing cycle.


17. Termination of Service

HostHike may suspend or terminate services at any time for:

  • Policy violations

  • Fraud or abuse

  • Legal requirements

  • Risk to infrastructure or reputation

Termination does not remove outstanding obligations.


18. Changes to These Terms

HostHike reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of services constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.


19. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
